Making it in Music panel discussion

Find out more about taking your first steps in the music industry at this panel discussion and Q&A featuring industry experts, followed by a dedicated networking opportunity.

Carnival Costume Making Workshops  

 

Dates, Times: 9, 16 and 23 August, 1-4pm

Location: Aylesbury Estate, in the park on Inville Road (map)

Cost: Free, no booking required

Design and make your own carnival costume with Amparo Rendon, from the weekly Latin American Multicultural Group for young people. On the day of Camberwell Fair you will have a chance to show off your creation in a special event with the amazing performance group Kinetika Bloco. All ages (under 8s to be accompanied by an adult)

Spoken Word with Sam Berkson

 

Dates, Times: 13, 15 and 17 Aug, 2-4pm (workshops) /

24 Aug, 5-7.30pm (performance)

Camberwell Fair presents a series of free spoken word workshops with one of London's top poets. Experienced slam host, performer and published poet Sam Berkson will guide the group through the writing and performance of spoken word, helping you develop your techniques and explore your ideas in an open and welcoming space. The three part workshop series will culminate in a final slam performance on 24th August at 2Inspire, with the winner getting a gig at this year's Camberwell Fair alongside some of the best known spoken word acts in London. Open to people aged 8-21. All welcome regardless of experience

Artist Showcase

 

Date and Time: 17 August, 6-10pm

Location: Louie Louie (map)

Cost: Free, no booking required

Artist Showcase event at Louie Louie - compete for your chance to perform at the Fair! To be in with a chance of performing, all you have to do is go on Instagram and follow these steps...

1. Follow @CamberwellFair@LouieLouie.London@OddMotionMusic 
2. Tag @OddMotionMusic in the comments of a performance video of yourself. Either on stage or in your bedroom, just show your talent!
3. Save the date - Friday, August 17th 2018 - to perform at our showcase event at Louie Louie in Camberwell. This will be in front of an intimate crowd to gain a slot for the main event. .

The deadline for entries is Monday the 13th of August! So get tagging any great artists you know based in London. Slots are very limited so if you don't hear anything by Tuesday 14th of August unfortunately you have not been successful this time. .
